CATEGORY AND VINTAGE: Red "Crianza" vintage 2004.
GRAPE VARIETY: Merlot 100%
CONSERVATION: Fermented in 225-litre, French Allier oak casks and macerated applying the traditional manual bâtonnage system for 12 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in the same casks. The wine was then placed in new American oak casks where it was aged for 3 months.
COLOUR: The result is a very bright, deep purple-garnet red wine with an outstanding aromatic potential underscored by notes of red currants and wild berries.
AROMA: Very complex and well-structured in the mouth; meaty, with a persistent attack rich in fruity nuances and ripe tannins.
TASTE: Very complex and well structured, balanced, silky and powerful, highlighting vigorous but noble tannins that are supplied by the barrel.
RETROTASTE: Long, enduring aftertaste, with a good finish where the typical aromas of the grape variety stand out.
GASTRONOMIC RECOMENDATION: Red meat, game and cured cheeses.
